Yangming will prepare the James Beard House Banquet
In NYC for the second year in a row.

Once again, Yangming is honored to be chosen to prepare a banquet for America’s leading culinary organization – this time, a magnificent French-Asian fusion dinner.

Yangming Owner/Chef Michael Wei, together with winemaster David Koball of Bonterra Vineyards, will prepare an exotic multi-course wine-pairing dinner at the Beard House in New York City on January 21. Joining Yangming chefs Michael Wei, Mu-Yang Shen and Vince Viola are star chefs Patrick Feury, James Huang and Lindsay Criscuolo from our sister restaurants Nectar, CinCin, Mandarin Garden and Szechuan East.

Bonterra Vineyards is a unique California vineyard specializing in delicious organic wines. Winemaster David Koball has personally chosen an organic wine – including selections from his private cellar – to accompany each course. David will also be present at the event to share his knowledge of wines.

The James Beard House is located at 167 West 12th Street. A limited number of seats are available to Yangming customers at special savings. For reservations, please call 212-627-2308. Mention that you are “a friend of the restaurant” and the code word “tarragon” to enjoy the member price of at $125 (all inclusive), a savings of $40/person.

Ring in the New Year at Yangming!

To experience a Yangming banquet closer to home, reserve now for our New Year’s Eve festivities. Along with our regular menu, you can indulge in a spectacular multi-course dinner for only $49.95/person (plus tax and gratuities). There are plenty of free party favors, a complimentary champagne toast after 10 PM, and at the bar, a broadcast of the Times Square countdown and festivities.

Yangming will be open New Years Eve from 11:30 AM until 1 AM, and New Year’s Day from 2 PM until 11 PM.

And this year, along with our regular menu, our Chinese New Year Banquet offers most of the dishes created for our James Beard Foundation Feast in New York City (wine is not included). It takes a Village.

Chef Vince Viola’s latest gingerbread village will be on display this holiday season in our restaurant’s vestibule, and then donated to a local charity after our patrons enjoy it.

THE “LIVE” LION DANCE
Tuesday, January 27, 2009 @ 7pm
Please join us for Yangming’s annual Chinese New Year celebration of the Lion Dance, a colorful treat for all ages. This traditional Chinese dance, which dates back to the Han Dynasty (205 B.C. to 220 A.D). is believed to bring good luck and happiness for the New Year. Inside a magnificently decorated paper-mache and cloth lion, two martial arts dancers move to the rhythm of a large drum, cymbals and a gong. The head dancer can move the lion's eyes, mouth and ears to express many moods. You and your whole family will love our FREE classic festivities.
